9/22/21: APOCALYPTIC SLIPPERY SLOPE

Clyde Lewis | September 22, 2021

MONOLOGUE WRITTEN BY CLYDE LEWIS

I don’t know if you have noticed but the Earth is becoming a very violent place. Not that it hasn’t been since time began but lately, some very important events have triggered some apocalyptic thinking.

I remember attending a preparedness seminar with David John Oates in Utah and there were speakers there that reported various things that could plague us in the future,

One was the possible explosion of the Yellowstone caldera.NASA Is Looking at How to Contain a Volcano That May Wipe Out Humanity

The Yellowstone super volcano remains an endless source of apocalyptic fascination — and it’s not hard to see why. In September 2014, a team of scientists published a paper in Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems exploring what a Yellowstone super-eruption might actually look like.

Among other things, they found the volcano was capable of burying states like Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Colorado in three feet of harmful volcanic ash — a mix of splintered rock and glass — and blanket the Midwest. That much ash could kill plants and animals, crush roofs, and short all sorts of electrical equipment:

The reason why Yellowstone gets so much attention is the remote possibility of catastrophic “super-eruptions.” A super-eruption is anything that measures magnitude 8 or more on the Volcano Explosivity Index, in which at least 1,000 cubic kilometers (or 240 cubic miles) of material gets ejected. That’s enough to bury Texas five feet deep.

These super-eruptions are thousands of times more powerful than even the biggest eruptions we’re used to.

Even bigger than the Mount St. Helens quake of 1980.Mt. St. Helens eruption. NOVA presents a pioneering look at the interplay bet...

What is most interesting about the Mount St, Helens quake is that it triggered the largest landslide ever recorded.

I remember when I was younger that the landslide event was mentioned and that there was one other volcano that if it were to erupt may also trigger a landslide — and that this slippery slope could trigger a mega tsunami that would not only affect Europe — but wipe out the eastern seaboard of the United states.

That volcano was located in the Canary Islands, and was named Cumbre Vieja.Lava pours out of volcano on La Palma in Spain's Canary Islands | Reuters

This volcano has now erupted and is now the subject of worry for geologists that hope that their opinions will hold — the opinion that there will be no landslide danger and that there will be no chance for a mega tsunami.

I am sure many of us remember that while concerns about Yellowstone blowing were first and foremost in our minds geological evidence suggested that in a future eruption, the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the island of La Palma could experience a catastrophic break on its western flank, throwing between 150 and 500 cubic kilometers of rock into the sea.

According to the theory, if the island were to split in two, it would create a wall of water that would reach the coast of Portugal and southwestern Spain, which both lie to the north east. The waves could be up to 25 meters high, and would even cause damage to the south of England further north and then to the west they would reach the North American coast, as well as “destroy the West African coast with waves of up to 100 meters,” according to the research.

Over the years many scientists have dismissed the idea while others still believe that the recent eruption should be cause for concern.

La Palma has undergone a previous flank collapse event, and there have been similar collapses elsewhere in the Canary Islands. Interestingly, none of these appear to have generated widespread tsunami deposits around the Atlantic basin.

The key to the idea such an event developing again is the events of the major eruption in 1949. During this event, a fault structure was observed to develop along a part of the Cumbre Vieja ridge. This has been interpreted as indicating movement of the flank of the volcano towards the west, and thus the development of a potential flank collapse landslide on the southern part of La Palma.

The eruption is still in progress in La Palma. The wall of incandescent lava is 6-meter-high on average and travels at a speed of 700 meters per hour, destroying everything, from homes to electrical and telephone communication masts, on its way towards the sea.

Meanwhile, the lava flow from the volcano, is close to reaching the sea, its natural outlet.

This situation is of concern to authorities as the reaction of lava in contact with saltwater “could lead to explosions and the emission of toxic gases,” according to the crisis team at the Canary Islands Volcano Emergency Plan.

When the lava, which has a temperature of around 1,000ºC, reaches the sea, which is little over 20ºC, experts say there will be an explosion of water steam that will create a dense white cloud. This plume is caused by the lava flow due to its extreme heat. But the molten rock will also trigger a chemical reaction, mainly of chlorine, which can irritate the skin, eyes and respiratory system.

According to the US Geological Service, there are four main dangers linked to the ocean entry of lava:

The sudden collapse of new land and adjacent sea cliffs into the ocean.

Explosions triggered by the collapse.

Waves of scalding hot water washing onshore.

Steam plume that rains hydrochloric acid and tiny volcanic glass particles downwind from the entry point.

An exclusion zone has been established in the sea, running parallel to the coast, and extending from Puerto Naos in the south of the island to Las Viñas beach in Tazacorte in the north. On land, security forces will prevent access to the area.

Scientists thought that the lava flow would reach the coast at around 8pm on Monday night, local time. However, the advance of the rivers of molten rock slowed and this forecast was not met.

The magma flow will completely change the orography of the eruption site. The land will become unusable and uninhabitable. The 6-meter-high lava flow will bury some more land, and also probably disrupt electrical and telephone communications… And when the magma reaches the sea, it will create acid rain .

It is yet another indication that we are in an apocalyptic cycle — and triggers thoughts of the apocalypse.

Apocalyptic subject matter has always been tossed around since the 1950’s, however we are now seeing the Apocalypse loom large in the public’s imagination. With apocalyptic thoughts come apocalyptic imagery, and the manifestation of apocalyptic monsters and events which by the looks of the headlines are happening right on schedule.

Hollywood is also getting into the act — not that they haven’t contributed already to the apocalyptic concerns –but NBC has come up with a new series called LaBrea which indicates that the earth can swallow you up at any moment.La Brea: Trailer for NBC sci-fi series strands Los Angeles family in time

In La Brea, a massive sinkhole mysteriously opens up in Los Angeles, tearing a family apart by separating mother and son from father and daughter. Part of the family finds itself in an unexplainable primeval world, alongside a disparate group of strangers. They must work to survive and uncover the mystery of where they are and if there is a way back home.

Kind of like an apocalyptic Gilligan’s island with a geological twist as it appears that a catastrophic cycle is underway –due to pole shifts and magnetic field anomalies happening on the planet.

Scientists who once were absolute in their findings that a pole shift would not affect the planet are now changing their minds as new studies are showing that it affected many things including human behavior.

This new information has led them to link the flipping of the poles to key moments in the prehistoric record, like the sudden appearance of cave art and the mysterious extinction of large mammals and the Neanderthals. They argue that the weakening of the Earth’s magnetic field would have briefly transformed the world by altering its climate and allowing far more ultraviolet light to pour in.

Their provocative analysis, in the journal, Science, is sure to get researchers talking. Until now, scientists have mostly assumed that magnetic field reversals didn’t matter much for life on Earth, although some geologists have noted that die-offs of large mammals seemed to occur in periods when the Earth’s magnetic field was weak.

This should be a wakeup call — We have been hearing conflicting reports about the earth shift and many people will ignore most of the warning because most hell fire preachers and scientists have been crying wolf for so long.

Everyday, we take most disasters in stride because they are expected on a planet that is never quiet.

When it comes to natural disasters, we have a million and a half of them every year, when it comes to earthquakes we have about three every minute. We see magnitude 5 quakes every six hours, a major quake every 3 weeks. They usually happen right on schedule and the reality is that while we see small earthquakes happen all the time, the event of high magnitude quakes in populated areas are on the increase and their intensity have also increased.

Once again, headlines, news stories, videos, and even movies stir up those dispensational fears of an extinction-level event that will signal the end of our civilization.

Nothing’s older than a fear of the apocalypse.

What the apocalypse entails are a number of killing mechanisms that await us – some of them are of our own design while others are natural and many of them are lurking out there somewhere in space.

It is a retro causal fulfillment of prophecy as the thunders from heaven give us reason to grip our crucifix tighter and tighter and await the voices of the seers and prophets declaring that the last days are fully upon us.

The Earth does not seem to end abruptly but parts of it seems to be going through the apocalyptic exercise and it appears that the spring is bringing with it pole shifts, volcanic activity and earthquakes in those places where such things are rare.

Otherwise, the shaking and quaking of the earth is business as usual as we see that we live on a violent planet and mother nature sometimes has a time table that gets in the way of the survival of human kind.

In its 4.5 billion–year history, life on earth has been almost erased at least half a dozen times: shattered by asteroid impacts, entombed in ice, smothered by methane, and torn apart by unfathomably powerful mega volcanoes.

Several years ago I wrote a presentation where I had noted that the earth’s Rising Base Frequency or “heartbeat,” was rising dramatically. Though it varies among geographical regions, for decades the overall measurement was 7.8 cycles per second. This was once thought to be a constant; global military communications developed on this frequency. Recent reports set the rate now at over 11 cycles, and climbing. Science doesn’t know why, or what to make of it.

There also seems to be a force pulling on the earth that can be detected and has been written about for decades and still there is no word on whether or not this could mean danger for human beings.

While earth’s “pulse” rate is rising, her magnetic field strength, is declining. According to a study from the University of New Mexico, the field has lost up to half its intensity in the last 4,000 years. This decline can cause all kinds of changes in the natural order of things.

Animals, fish and wildlife are affected as we continue to hear stories about birds falling from the sky and fish especially whales trying to commit suicide.

Recently there was story about a whale named HUGO was said to have been so unhappy in his captivity at an aquarium that he slammed his head into the wall of his tank until he died.

The orca suffered a brain aneurysm after repeatedly ramming against the edge of his enclosure.

Just weeks ago, there were a hundreds of sparrows falling from the sky and dying in Bali’s Gianyar regency, with authorities initially dumbfounded by the whole situation.

The incident occurred in a cemetery, and was recorded by a local who could be heard being extremely puzzled at the sight of hundreds of dead (or nearly dead) birds on the ground.

Reports coming from the area indicated that the mass die-off happened immediately after a storm that blew through , and some social media reported that there was flash of pink light that was seen covering the sky which may have been a magnetic anomaly that electrified the birds.

The pulse activity on the planet is going to give us more stories about a catastrophic era where disasters that will be reported will interrupt the cycles of creation on the planet.

Plants and animals will show the effects first and then man will begin to become unstable. The effects from such a magnetic shifts have been recorded thousands of years ago. Reports of earthquakes, floods, volcanic activity and plasma from space have been recorded.

New research has expanded on the discovery of a strange phenomenon called blackbody force, showing that the effect of radiation on particles surrounding massive objects can be magnified by the space that warps around them.

This force along with magnetic and gamma forces can create a galactic wave that can pass over any planet and create anomalous activity.

A strong earthquake shook buildings in the Chilean city of Concepcion on Tuesday, though there were no immediate reports of damage.

The U.S. Geological Survey put the quake’s magnitude at 6.4 and said it was centered offshore, 81 kilometers (50 miles) northwest of the city of Arauco.Very strong mag. 6.3 earthquake - South Pacific Ocean, 63 km west of Concepcion, Region del Biobio, Chile, on Tuesday, Sep 21, 2021 8:14 am (GMT -5) - 76 user experience reports / VolcanoDiscovery

Witnesses said tall buildings swayed strongly after the quake hit. Other witnesses claim that just before the strong quake there were flashes of light — namely bolts of electricity coming up from the ground.

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck near Melbourne according to geoscience Australia.

It has been reported to be one of the country’s biggest quakes on record, causing damage to buildings in the country’s second-largest city and sending tremors throughout neighboring states.

The quake’s epicenter was near the rural town of Mansfield in the state of Victoria, about 200 km (124 miles) northeast of Melbourne, and was at a depth of 10 km (six miles). An aftershock was rated 4.0.

Images and video footage circulating on social media showed rubble blocking one of Melbourne’s main streets, while people in northern parts of the city said on social media they had lost power and others said they were evacuated from buildings.Rare Australian earthquake triggers panic in Melbourne | Earthquakes News | Al Jazeera

The quake was felt as far away as the city of Adelaide, 800 km (500 miles) to the west in the state of South Australia, and Sydney, 900 km (600 miles) to the north in New South Wales state, although there were no reports of damage outside Melbourne and no reports of injuries.

More than half of Australia’s 25 million population lives in the southeast of the country from Adelaide to Melbourne to Sydney.

Meanwhile in the states, there have been earthquake swarms in California and Phoenix, Arizona actually had a number of temblors as well.

During the past 7 days, Arizona was shaken by 3 quakes of magnitude 4.0 or above, 19 quakes between 3.0 and 4.0, and 7 quakes between 2.0 and 3.0. There were also 11 quakes below magnitude 2.0 which people don’t normally feel.

We are being told that our days have been numbered. We either hear it from the New Age thinkers who see doomsday in ancient calendars, or we are told by politicians and scientists that our days on earth will be cut short because of Earth changes and dire predictions of environmental disaster due to the abuses we have allegedly committed against nature.

In the so-called science fiction apocalypse, movies and books often show us what comes after nature‘s various tests and trials. It is a form of predictive programming that wishes to paint a picture of how a few survive among the dead and the sick.

Whether it’s a pandemic, nuclear or environmental disaster, or even a mountain slope that can slide into the ocean creating a mega tsunami apocalypse and destruction, fascinates all of us.

If science fiction is, as a literature of ideas that may transpire in the future, then apocalyptic science fiction is the literature of how ideas go wrong — an exploration of all of our bad possible futures, and what might happen after.
