10/8/21: ROUGAROU – AN AMERICAN SKINWALKER IN LOUISIANA W/ SETH BREEDLOVE

Clyde Lewis | October 8, 2021

MONOLOGUE WRITTEN BY CLYDE LEWIS

It is that time of the year again where we escape the horrors of the apocalypse and jump into the classic horrors of the season. What is ironic is that most of these classic horrors that we end up blowing dust off of for Halloween are now manifesting in our reality and this is where it gets dark and terrifying.

Whether it be paranormal or parapolitical, there is still a question of whether or not those who decide to rule over us are simply blood thirsty wolves in sheep’s clothing.

There is an old Latin phrase that says, Praeclarum Custodem Ovium Lupum, which translated means “An excellent protector of sheep, the wolf.” I think it is very straight forward. Even the Fabian socialists whose plane was to gradually take over the world had a stained-glass window at their headquarters that showed a wolf in sheep’s clothing.Bestiaria Latina Blog: Latin Proverbs and Fables Round-Up: December 8

Specifically, a Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing is the image which appears in the shield above the world being wrought in the Fabian mold.

It is based on the biblical reference that comes from the New Testament and a sermon by Jesus warning that false prophets come in sheep’s clothing but are actually ravening wolves.

It appears that there are false prophets that have come in great numbers at this moment in time and may among us are certainly perpetuating the imperial cult of the beast.

Many people find themselves groping for things unknown and as they approach a subject, they learn many startling things.

Most things are really not all that new, but when strange things happen with great frequency and you begin to see a pattern – you see them as signs that something is wrong in both the spiritual and physical environment.

It is becoming apparent that something is wrong. Something is not normal; in fact, it is paranormal, and we are seeing some strange things that are transpiring that really don’t make any sense.

There really isn’t a science or academic discipline that studies or investigates strange and paranormal phenomena. This is why it is a difficult subject to report without sounding like you are embellishing a story for reasons of sensationalism.

The truth is things do go bump in the night – things do tap on your window when you are alone in your home and that scream in the woods can be something from some ungodly corner of hell.

We have all had the experience of feeling vulnerable especially in the presence of entities or even creatures we have never seen before.

here is always the idea that parapsychology is the study of things unknown. I have never claimed to have a degree in parapsychology, and I don’t know if there is a degree to be had, but I have studied mythology, magic, and the occult.

Since most of the important phenomena studied by parapsychologists are non-repeatable; for example, astral projection, ghostly apparitions or precognition – it is always fascinating to see activity that you can show as repeatable. Pattern recognition is an integral part of scientific study – a repeating paranormal event is something significant.

I want to make it clear that there is a difference between something supernatural and something paranormal. Most people unaware of the differences throw up walls and claim that what they observe seems normal and natural– and this might be.

However, before I jump into the meat of what is happening, I want to make clear some definitions and differences of Supernatural and Paranormal.

“Para” is Latin for “beyond” – so it literally means, “beyond normal.”

It is a perception without scientific or normal explanation. It is beyond normal explanation, outside normal thought or logic. Anything that defies normal scientific parameters is paranormal.

Supernatural is beyond scientific explanation/natural laws. Most of what is supernatural is all based in spiritual realms and realms of the dimensional. Even if everything became explained by science, anything ‘supernatural’ would still not be explainable by science. What is considered as ‘supernatural’ was never natural or of this world.

For example, a demon is supernatural because it isn’t scientifically proven to exist in this world. And it is not of this world; as in, it was never human or a part of the naturally existing creatures acknowledged by science and nature. A demon is a creature believed to exist on another plane of existence and not our world.

It is said to be a spiritual creature that can possess both human and animal.

We can say that for decades that a lot of very real paranormal stories have reached the point of folklore and urban legend. Hollywood hasn’t helped, with trying to keep basic stories intact without embellishing them for effect, and there are a few newspapers and news reporters that love to mock people who have experienced things that don’t necessarily belong to anything here on earth.

In 1995, when Ground Zero first started airing in Salt Lake City, this paranormal story of the ranch was kind of in our own back yard. Mildred Beasley, who was the chairwoman of the Utah chapter of MUFON, and UFO investigator Ryan Layton had given me a news tip about a ranch off the beaten path in the Uintah Basin that was being attacked by forces that could not be explained. The story was at first a UFO story. That was just a small part of it, however.

There were also a number of reports that the ranch was also being plagued with werewolf encounters, poltergeist activity, strange voices and other encounters that were unheard of in any paranormal circle.

This ranch, owned by Terry Sherman and his wife, Gwen, was literally a ranch of terror with stories that would make the ‘Amityville Horror’ sound like a children’s Halloween Party. How Skinwalker Ranch Became a Hotbed of Paranormal Activity - HISTORY

At the time, Sherman talked to very few reporters and wanted to get rid of the ranch without any attention from the press, but word traveled fast in the small community near Fort Duchesne, Utah and soon reporters and paranormal investigators settled in at the overlook near the mesa where the strange activity was occurring.

Very little information was released about the ranch in 1995, only that a strange force was playing games with the Sherman’s. There were strange, shadowy figures inside the house, objects would move on their own, disembodied voices could be heard speaking in unintelligible languages and many head of cattle were found mutilated on the ranch.

It was also reported that UFO’s, in the form of large balls of light, could be seen in the sky, coming down to the ground and strange humanoid figures stepping out of them some even appearing to be like upright, walking wolves.

The area was first called ‘UFO Hill‘ because of the stories that the tribal police would tell about UFO’s and abduction in the area. It was later called Skinwalker Ranch because the locals called the upright walking wolves “skinwalkers.”James Garner - Skinwalker

For me “The Skinwalker” has always been a flashy name for a Werewolf or a dog man — many skinwalkers are not just wolves. They can be bears or mountain lions or some other apex predator that transforms from man to beast.

Recently, there was a documentary that was produced by Seth Breedlove that took us to the bayou and introduced us to an American Skinwalker of the Swamp called the Rougarou.News] SKINWALKER: THE HOWL OF THE ROUGAROU Debuts September 14! - Nightmarish Conjurings

Creepy swamp tales surrounding the Cajun creature have spooked some families living along the bayous for generations. Legend says the Rougarou prowls Louisiana swamps to hunt down Catholics who don’t observe Lent and children who don’t behave.History of the Rougarou: Louisiana's Werewolf

Actually the French pronunciation referring to the swamp monster is “loup-garou,” the French word for werewolf.

The legend or the reality of this creature sounds a bit like the skinwalker as do most tales of werewolves — this legend goes back to the 16th century France and the French Canadians that made their way to swamps of the United States.

Since the migration, many of the legends began to change to match the times and the dialect. Since Cajun dialect is a mix of French and English and well-known for changing words completely to roll off the tongue easier, the name of the beast changed from loup-garou to Rougarou (also spelled roux-ga-roux, rugaroo, or rugaru).

In the swamps within the Greater New Orleans area and the Acadiana is where this beast has come to live.

There are also stories of an enormous monster that also shares the bayou with the Rougarou and that is the Honey Island Swamp Monster, which is also known as Louisiana’s “bigfoot of the swamp.”

Another telling of the story says that the Rougarou is under a 101-day curse, unless the affected person can transfer the curse to another human being. Their curse usually comes from a local witch, sometimes a Voodoo priestess.

The transfer of the curse is done through a series of blood rituals.

It is said that you can protect yourself against the Rougarou by laying 13 small objects by your doors. The creature apparently becomes perplexed or curious and wishes to meticulously count the objects but somehow has the inability to count past 12.

Despite the fact that it was originally a legend, there are still claimed sightings of the Rougarou to this day, though it has died off a bit in the past decade.

Stories of werewolves and hideous creatures from hell have their roots in human behaviors that are seen as beastly and satanic. The beast-like nature of man becomes center stage and many stories in the modern era are similar to stories of those who are cursed.

This goes way beyond the idea of lycanthropy.

Clinical lycanthropy is a very rare condition and is largely considered to be an idiosyncratic expression of a psychotic episode caused by another condition such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or clinical depression.

Lycanthropy is an unusual belief in which the patient thinks that he or she has been transformed into an animal. In rare cases, the patient believes that another person has been transformed into an animal.

In fact in the era of Live action role playing or Larping there are some people who are among us that identify as wolves or believe that wolves are their familiars or spirit animals.

These days you can identify as anything but to identify as a wolf or a chimera that is half man half wolf has led to some scary stories in history.

There have been several murderers in the modern age that may have been in fact werewolves or Lycanthropes . When we look metaphorically at the acts of Jeffery Dahmer and Ed Gein one needs to question if the spirit of the wolf possessed them.Jeffrey Dahmer and Ed Gein - Complete Full Confessions in .PDF Instant Digital Download Format - Serial Killers Ink - The premier murderabilia and true crime collectibles website

It was said that Gein preserved his mother’s skin. He confessed that he often dressed up in it, wore his mother’s clothes, and ran outside the farmhouse to dance in the moonlight. He also wore belts of human nipples and would make furniture of human skin.

Dahmer, of course, was legendary for eating his victims which also is a trait of the man wolf. This view generally would be ridiculed as pure hokum however if we read of cases of Lycanthropy we see that the symptoms and actions are always similar and tend to be consistent.

The Spanish story of Manuel Blanco Romasanta is one that talks of a ritual that Romasanta performed before he would attack his victims and eating them and leaving behind their bones. He would strip off his clothes dance in the moonlight and then roll around on the ground three times in order to become a werewolf. He confessed to thirteen murders in the mid-nineteenth century, is regarded as Spain’s first documented psychopath and first confessed “werewolf.”

It is strange to note that the court acquitted him of four of the murders he confessed to, because forensic evidence showed that t the victims died in wolf attacks.

The idea of a shape-shifting Werewolf, or even the werewolf mind set was also part of an agenda in Nazi Germany. The Nazi Werewolf guerrilla movement was founded by Heinrich Himmler in 1944. While these were fringe terrorist squads, the rumors surrounding the group linked them mind control programming and genetic chimera testing.

Hitler was looking into the idea of creating a super soldier capable of all kinds of hideous acts. Combining Wolf DNA with human DNA they allegedly were able to create a werewolf squad capable of shape shifting. Bizarre as this whole rumor is, the most remarkable pronouncement about Chimeras ex-cathedra comes from the Catholic church.

Catholic bishops in the United Kingdom decreed that “chimeras” (human-animal hybrid embryos conceived in a laboratory) have a right to life. Does this mean that walking among us in a shadow biosphere are animal human hybrids?9 Real-Life Chimeras from the Annals of Paleontology

We know that science has created chimeras in a lab but we are yet to discover chimeras that are half-man, half-wolf.

It doesn’t mean that they don’t exist and with their existence the legends and the realities collide.

Mainstream news has now avoided reporting stories dealing with weird creatures even strange human looking beings being found dead near the facilities of Montauk and Plum Island facility that does biological tests on animals and maybe even Humans. Police In new York reported that a security guard discovered partially decomposed mutated human body on the island’s southwest beach area where access is restricted.

Police on Long Island say an autopsy found no immediate cause of death but determined the body was that of a black man about 6 feet tall with a large build and very long fingers. The fingers looked like claws and the body, what was left of it was powerfully built.

Unfortunately, there was no picture of the body anywhere to be found, unlike the last time a carcass washed upon the shores. The “Montauk Monster” was an unidentified creature that washed ashore dead on a beach near Montauk business district in 2008. The identity of the creature was not determined however the creature looked very much like a dog with a Large saber front teeth that resembled a beak.

In the year 2011, Father Rufus Pereira, Roman Catholic priest and exorcist appointed by Pope John Paul II, took to the podium at a Catholic Conference; he had an urgent message from Pope Benedict XVI bout Satan.Fr. Rufus Pereira in Belarus – To Live Is Christ

Some 300 catholic priests appointed by the pope as Exorcists were called together to discuss vampirism, shape shifting and mental illness. The conference was held at Poland’s Jasna Gora monastery, home to the venerated Black Madonna icon.

The congress examined the current fashion for vampirism in Europe and the world-over, schizophrenia and other mental disorders and the topic of demonic shape shifting into profane forms.

The Priests were warned that the devil’s deceit is in the acceptance of devils, vampires and the mental illness that turns people into werewolves.

The Catholic Father was very serious about the societal change in attitudes towards the reality of evil and the invitation of demonic denizens into society.

According to a group of Christian scholars, this comes as the world is experiencing an explosion of ancient occultism combined with wicked fascination for ghosts and all things paranormal.

The priests were concerned then about people who would act out their vampiric fantasies and also identifying as werewolves and murdering innocent people while under the spell of Satan.

It seems a bit odd that the interest of the churches in something this paranormal was addressed a decade ago. The fight against so called Vampires and werewolves has always been a secret held by the church. The very idea of chasing demons out of the marketplace has given the church a archaic and medieval image. Now it seems they really are not that covert. The war against Satan is ageless and the fear of a shape-shifter has been a tale as old as time.

Are we to believe that if their is concern by the church that shape-shifters are among us —should we be concerned?

The study of monsters and crypto creatures has always been downplayed as a field where investigators are out to find a creature that might exist. There are experts who also investigate the possibility that some of these creatures are supernatural in nature or are the product of some rogue manifestation.

There is always the possibility we can stumble upon an animal or a creature that we never knew existed, or creature like Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster or the Chupacabra that are thrust out of their mythological status, and are upgraded to that of a specimen that can be analyzed by scientists. The Chupacabra – Texas Monthly

However, things like the Rougarou or a swamp monster are a matter of legend — but do any of these legends have a basis in fact?

Speak of the Werewolf and you are told that it is a mythical creature. Others will tell you about lycanthropy and how people would have the appearance of wolves. Shape shifting has also been recorded anciently, where a man wears the skin of a creature and becomes that creature. What is a werewolf and how does one become one? Have there been werewolves in our midst?

The answer is surprising.

It has been observed that perhaps the inhabitants of hell far exceed those who reside in heaven. When the moon is full, it is written that the inhabitants of these netherworlds journey to earth looking for prey. While animal, vegetable, and mineral are pleasing to these profane creatures, it is man who often gets in the way. When the creatures have their first taste of blood, they know what is most desirous of the planet.

However, it is not just any blood. It is the blood of the young, and only blood that is taken when the target is in fear for its life.

With the quickness of a cat the monster attacks from the shadows pouncing on it’s victim, ripping it’s throat out and quenching it’s thirst with the severed vein which serves as a fountain of life. The twitching body slowly loses its life force and the creature drops the lifeless body to the ground and moves on to the next unsuspecting victim. The story of the shape-shifter or Werewolf is as old as your bedtime stories.

I often like to use Little Red Riding Hood as an example.Little Red Riding Hood - Wikipedia

The wolf disguised as grandma lies in the bed as the young girl with the red hood arrives with wine and bread. It is symbolic of trying to get the evil shape-shifting creature to partake of the sacrament. There is also an element of transubstantiation as the shape-shifter eats the girl and then she returns again in an act of resurrection. So perhaps the werewolf is real? That we merely try to explain it away with science when in reality, it is creature that has been yanked from its domain in hell to prey upon children.

Ancient Navajo beliefs speak of the shape-shifter and its mannerisms. The Skinwalker wears the skin of who it wants to be, and literally becomes that person or that creature. The Skinwalker often wears the skin of the wolf and of course the mentality of that creature takes over the mind of the man, thus making him a Werewolf.

There were many rituals that were said to transform a man into a werewolf. They would draw circles and ingest substances that would put them in a trance-like state. Great fires would be built and opium was smoked then a medicine man would use an incantation.

It was told that after the incantation , the trees would begin to rustle, and the wind would moan and out of the sudden darkness there would be a glowing, tall, cylindrical, pillar-like phantom of the unknown, seven or eight feet in height.

There are others who claim that the column would take on a half-man half-human form. Gray in color with large eyes. It would then transform into a woman with large ears and a doglike snout. It eventually transforms into a wolf. The wolf then would bite the supplicant.

It would then produce a prolonged howl that sounds as if it is produced from the bowels of the Earth.

It is described as a piercing, harrowing whine, or a low laugh of hellish glee. The supplicant is now a werewolf. He undergoes his first morphing into wolf form the following evening at sunset, reassuming his human shape at dawn

This will continue until his death, when he may once morph either from man form or wolf form.

Between the legends, the satanic ritualism and the clinical diagnoses of lycanthropy, there have been sightings of upright walking wolves that are believed to hybrid human shape-shifters or changelings that have been seen by hunters and other unsuspecting victims.

In the purest black magical sense there has been a movement among the practitioners of the black arts which promotes the idea of “Atavistic resurgence.”

The late Kenneth Grant known occultist ceremonial magician and prominent advocate of the Thelemite religion, stated that the resurgence of the beastly nature of man can be explained as a divine union with mankind and their primal appetites.

Grant stated:

“Atavistic resurgence, a primal urge towards union with the Divine by returning to the common source of all, is indicated by the backward symbolism peculiar to all Sabbath ceremonies, as also of many ideas connected with witchcraft, sorcery and magic.

Whether it be the symbol of the moon presiding over nocturnal ecstasies; the words of power chanted backwards; the back-to-back dance performed in opposition to the sun’s course; the devil’s tail – are all instances of reversal and symbolic of Will and Desire turning within and down to subconscious regions, to the remote past, there to surprise the required atavistic energy for purposes of transformation, healing, initiation, construction or destruction.”

Grant stated that it is possible through black magic to actually transform into a beast and allow for the primal power to possess you. This of course is similar to what shaman do when they wear animal skins in order to bring forth the Skinwalker.

The Werewolf legend is far more complex than the Hollywood tales of silver bullets and wolf bane. Ritualism has anointed the few with the knowledge of shape shifting and activating the primal nature of man. What Happens to a Werewolf in the Harvest Moon? | Open Graves, Open Minds

It is a conjuring of the beast, whether it be on two legs or four where either one might be lurking somewhere ready to pounce.

In the immortal words of Bela Lugosi “Beware, Beware, take care. beware!”
