I am sure that in a lot of Christian households, the end times, Armageddon, alien Invasion, nuclear war. and maybe even the rapture has returned to the realm of dinner table conversation, weighing on the minds of the public more than it has in a generation.

It has been obviously on my mind lately — and maybe more so now that we are seeing the threat of a long war in the holy land, the place where Armageddon is supposed to take place.

I am sure many of us remember Hal Lindsey’s “Late Great Planet Earth” and Orson Welles’s “The Man Who Saw Tomorrow” –even when I was a young adult there was even the peculiar “Tribulation 99: Alien Anomalies Under America” film that I thought was so weird it might be true.

It was a film that seemed to be The X-Files on LSD — but it was all about the alien intervention in the last days– of course, it was all hokey, but we were living in times where we all were thinking that we should all eat, drink and be merry because it just felt like we weren’t going to make it to the year 2000.

But it seems that the more things change the more they stay the same — I mean how do you explain the box office draw of Oppenheimer this last summer — It stands to reason that it was a blockbuster because of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the country’s officials making nuclear threats. Russia suspended its participation in a nuclear arms control treaty with the United States. North Korea has launched demonstrative missiles. The United States, which is modernizing its nuclear weapons, shot down a surveillance balloon from China, which is building up its atomic arsenal.

Oppenheimer \was asked by a student after the Trinity explosion, “How do you feel after having exploded the first atomic bomb on earth”. Oppenheimer’s reply to the question was, “not the first atomic bomb, but the first atomic bomb in modern times”. He strongly believed that nukes were used in ancient India.

What made Oppenheimer believe that a nuclear weapon was the accurate description of the weapons used in the Mahabharata War in the Epic which match that of modern nuclear weapons?

He was referring to something called the Brahmastra which was a weapon written about in ancient Sanskrit. According to ancient Sanskrit writings, the Brahmastra was a very powerful weapon that was created by what were called gods from the fortresses of the air. It had to be detonated in a certain area after a key phrase or invocation was given by the user of the weapon. Through this invocation, the user could call upon the weapon and use it through a medium against an adversary.

India is considered one of the oldest civilizations, in fact, much of the ancient history allegedly can be called antediluvian meaning that there are allegedly texts and histories that date back before the biblical Adam and the times before Noah.

So perhaps ancient civilizations had also experienced end-of-the-world scenarios and of course, they seem to be centered in areas of the Middle East.

We are now watching the Middle East dovetail in a war that can only be dreamed of in the pages of the Bible, where you can ask anyone about Gog and Magog –and they won’t say they are Star Wars characters.

In this environment, a conventional crisis runs a significant risk of either purposefully or even accidentally fulfilling some sort of prophetic quatrain from Nostradamus — or scriptures that have been delivered from the pulpit at the Sunday revival.

All that is required now is a mark in the hand and forehead and some dark prince of hell whose area code is 666.

Now it is very intriguing to try and put an apocalyptic peg in a round hole — and we don’t always have good judgment. Our mind plays tricks on us when we are under stress.

And there are so many examples of humans declaring the end of the world throughout history.. so the question is always what makes these events any different from those that have happened in the past?

growing scientific understanding of the human brain hasn’t necessarily translated into understanding the intricacies of coming to terms with Armageddon.

The trauma from past catastrophes experienced by our ancestors seems to be handed down from generation to generation.

A recent story published in the Jerusalem Post claims that the biblical city of Sodom met a fiery end in what could be described as an asteroid impact more powerful than an “atomic explosion.”

Biblical studies expert. Dr. John Bergsma, a prominent theologian, contends that excavations in Jordan provide substantial proof that one of the Bible’s most dramatic catastrophic narratives may indeed be factual.

Bergsma asserts that archaeological findings in Jordan corroborate the existence of the biblical city of Sodom. Prior research had already indicated that the ancient city of Tell el-Hammam, located in the southern Jordan Valley, suffered a catastrophic fate—a revelation that Dr. John Bergsma, a theology professor at Ohio’s Franciscan University, believes aligns with the biblical account.

As per the Book of Genesis, God unleashed brimstone and fire upon the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah in response to the sins of their inhabitants, resulting in their complete obliteration. Similar destruction patterns were uncovered at Tell el-Hammam, leading Bergsma to reevaluate the credibility of the biblical narrative. He pointed to signs of extreme heat detected on skeletons and pottery fragments unearthed by archaeologists, suggesting a possible impact from an asteroid.

The absence of signs of a siege in the ruins suggested that the city and its neighboring area were not subjected to military attack.

Bergsma received insight into some remarkable discoveries from Steven Collins, the chief archaeologist at Tell el-Hammam. Among these discoveries were pottery shards coated with trinitite, a glassy substance formed when an atomic bomb detonates in a desert.

Additionally, human remains were uncovered, with skeletons intact up to the mid-spine, above which only scorch marks remained. These findings provide substantial evidence that a tremendous burst of heat from the sky incinerated the twin cities on the Jordanian side of the river.

Steven Collins likened the devastation to the Tunguska event of 1908, in which a massive asteroid entered Earth’s atmosphere over Siberia, causing widespread destruction. He added the proposed airburst would have been larger than the Tunguska event, which had 1,000 times more energy than the atomic bomb that destroyed Hiroshima.”

Remarkably, this cataclysmic event also appears to have produced substantial quantities of salt, as noted by James Kent, an associate professor of earth sciences at the University of California – a detail that may remind some of the story of Lot’s wife, who turned into a pillar of salt following the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Of course, many other scientists question the validity of the discovery.

Abraham in the bible saw the aftermath of the destruction as we read “And he looked over the face of Sodom and Gomorrah and over the entire face of the land of the plain, and he saw, and behold, the smoke of the earth had risen like the smoke of a furnace.”

The Middle East has been quite a volatile area and when we hear of the wars and rumors of wars we only can catch a glimpse of what the Middle East is all about.

The Torah speaks of 974 generations existing before the Creation of Adam by God; these are the people that the children of Adam and Eve married. According to Scripture, Adam and Eve had three children, Cain, Able and Seth, who married and had children. Biblical scholars have questioned who did they marry and what families existed simultaneously during the creation story.

Some claim that the 974 generations that existed prior to the Torah may have populated India and that there have been texts that not only talk about their remarkable history, but the ancient scrolls also have revealed a connection with the Gods that they describe as powerful, and that used ancient technologies in order to fly through the heavens. It is also interesting to note that these technologies also included very powerful weapons that were capable of causing the entire sky to burn up and that would scorch the earth.

To say they are nuclear weapons would sound outrageous — but would it all be that unusual to develop weapons like these and that generation after generation some 1000 to be in fact wiped themselves out as they were heading for their own Armageddon?

Could the end of the world be a ritual? A ritual that has been carried out by mankind over several generations?

It would indicate that not all of civilization was destroyed, but a great deal of them had perished leaving behind a small amount of humans to bring the population back.

One section of the Bhagavad Gita called the “Book of Drona,” describes ‘magical’ weapons, called “astra,” that could destroy entire armies, “causing crowds of warriors with steeds and elephants and weapons to be carried away as if they were dry leaves of trees.” Another weapon was described as producing vertical, billowing smoke clouds that opened consecutively like giant umbrellas, reminiscent of the massive rising mushroom clouds produced by the Trinity test.

Again the “Brahmastra,” that Oppenheimer spoke of was created by the god Brahma, it was a “single projectile charged with all the power in the universe. It was an unknown weapon, an iron thunderbolt, a gigantic messenger of death which reduced to ashes an entire race. There was neither a counterattack nor a defense that could stop it.

The weapon produced “an incandescent column of smoke and flame as bright as 10,000 suns that rose in all its splendor. After, corpses were so burned as to be unrecognizable. Their hair and nails fell out; pottery broke without any apparent cause, and the birds turned white… After a few hours, all foodstuffs were infected.

Any target hit by the Brahmastra would be utterly destroyed; the land would become barren and lifeless, rainfall would cease, and infertility in humans and animals would follow for eons of time.

What is interesting is that after the Trinity detonations, there were glass rocks that were left behind after the unbelievable explosion.

“Trinitite” glass, also called “nuclear,” “atomic,” and “desert” glass, was formed when silica sand was heated to temperatures above 1,700 degrees centigrade by the blast.

This is the same glassy solid that was found in the discovery of Sodom — from the Bible.

After the Trinity test, engineer Albion Hart noticed that the Trinitite was identical to the material he had seen in the African desert decades earlier. He calculated that the size of the African glass deposit indicated a blast ten thousand times more powerful than the Trinity bomb. The similarities were dismissed, as no one believed an ancient or modern blast of those proportions was possible.

Earlier, in 1932, an Egyptian Geological Survey team member Patrick Clayton was driving across the desert near the Saad Plateau. He said he heard a “crunching” under the wheels of his car; unusual, in that he was driving on sand surfaces. He stopped and discovered large pieces of glass in the sand.

The glass has also been found under Neolithic, Sumerian, and Babylonian layers at archaeological sites in Iraq. Is it possible that an ancient civilization prior to the Neolithic period blew itself back to the Stone Age with nuclear devices?

Libyan Desert glass deposits, estimated to be 28.5 million years old, stretch over 6,500 square kilometers into neighboring Egypt. The light green Libyan glass, called “the rock of god,” was so gem-like and crystal clear it was used in royal Egyptian jewelry. Ten thousand-year-old paleolithic tools made from desert glass have been found in Egypt and throughout North Africa.

Libyan desert glass – raw and carved – is easily available today, but how the glass formed has long puzzled scientists.

So this may indicate that ancient civilizations had advanced weapons– it may also indicate that there have been many civilizations over time that have witnessed or knew of the devastation that would cripple humanity like an apocalyptic event.

A near extinction event that would leave the earth without form and void — much like the description we read of in the bible. Not that it was a creation story — but a story of how God had to replenish and reboot the earth after a devastating explosion or cosmic event.

But there is no doubt that it has been documented that ancient history is rich in describing archaic weapons of mass destruction which, over the centuries, have become difficult to identify.

Nonetheless, if the claims made of their destructive potential in ancient texts are accurate, many seem to represent tools that would be better fitted to the arsenal of today’s most sophisticated military.

It would also be evident that the trauma of an end-of-the-world scenario could have been handed down from generation to generation — that those who witnessed near extinction were able to tell the story, and through the observation of human nature know that the process of annihilation would happen again.

Trauma is handed down generation after generation where memories exist that we have never experienced first-hand.

In 1950, Immanuel Velikovsky published Worlds in Collision, a book detailing that in antiquity, catastrophe and cosmic upheaval were re-occurring events. Velikovsky’s research led to the disturbing conclusion that early civilizations may have experienced an end to their world and that the trauma of the world’s colliding and dimensions melding together may be responsible for our reoccurring fears of the apocalypse or an abrupt ending of the world.

New research suggests that experiencing intense psychological trauma may have a genetic impact on a person’s future children. A study examining the DNA of Holocaust survivors and their children found similar variations from the norm in both generations for the gene associated with depression and anxiety disorders.

The findings imply that children of individuals who experience profound stress in life may be more likely to develop stress or anxiety disorders themselves. Another question: Is stress from trauma the only thing passed down from our genealogical pedigree?

Even with images and sound we sometimes share the same interpretations of what we see and hear in agreement with our mothers and fathers.

We are now in the second decade of the 21st century and there have been growing doubts about the viability of an optimistic future. It used to be that the pessimistic view of the future was confined to 20th-century literary humanists who saw the year 2000 and 12 years hence as a window of opportunity to write about an apocalypse that includes such things as Y2K, the Mayan Calendar and the return of Planet X.

While vigilant believers in end times events were waiting for the nebulous end of the world – dates would pass and times were up and nothing happened to the satisfaction of watchdogs who felt that the doom, death, and destruction had to be widespread for it to count or at least meet the satisfaction of those who are rapture ready or hoping to watch the world burn.

But there are some people that now see prophecies of doom as clichés and social criticism is levied against the religious and superstitious. We all know that there is only one doomsday scenario that is sticking with people and that is the one that has political support. Of course, I am talking about the environmental doomsday scares that have been created in order to make excuses for the implementation of socialism, food control, population control, reproductive limits and eugenics directives.

Eschatology no longer needs religion now that it has become a distinct technical possibility.

End-of-the-world scenarios are no longer the product of the religious as scientists and politicians manage to provoke an increasingly worried reflection on the likelihood of a doomsday scenario whether it is a nuclear conflagration or an asteroid impact.

We live in a time when common sense has become quite rare. Likewise, the voice of reason has fled humankind and thinking outside the box is shamed for what can be called consensus science. We get mixed messages about what is happening above us but the truth is what is happening is not just above us it surrounds us and affects us in many ways and unless you get a sound scientific framework that gives a firm direction to understand what is happening – the future will be turbulent as we can only imagine.

I have heard many times that we are living in days similar to the days of Noah. However, we could not possibly know how the days or Noah actually were. I know that it is a worn-out euphemism to describe the condition of man before a biblical catastrophe–skeptics say it is cliche– or a worn-out euphemism but is it really?

There is no doubt that we live in fascinating times and God has given us this moment to observe the spectacle of new frontiers and new innovations. Perhaps at long last, we can see with our own eyes without indifference the abominable falsehoods that are being programmed into us ones that are being exposed and replaced with uncomfortable truths.

Adapting to new information and uncomfortable anomaly is an imperative for today’s troubled and outrageous times. I know that many of us stick with our political views because we want to believe that those who are in charge have our best interests at heart beyond the political there is the esoteric nature of life.

It is becoming more and more evident that quantum coherence and quantum superposition rears its head and we are left with meaningful metaphor within a patterned observation.

From there, something in the mind clicks and we realize that at times there really isn’t anything new under the sun or we reach out and wonder if timelines overlap and inspiration is eternal.

As we know, quantum entanglement is a quantum-mechanical phenomenon in which the quantum state of two or more objects should be described in interrelation with each other, even if individual objects are spaced apart.

One affects the other, one can influence the other, and both can have the same attributes – one or the other can be in two places at once and one can be in one dimension and know what the other is doing in the other.

As a result, correlations appear between the physical properties of these objects. The quantum entanglement phenomenon is also viewed in relation to such notions as quantum coherence and quantum superposition.

Using what is called Demographic-structural theory, we can predict what will happen as the decade shows signs of decline.

We can expect this decline to continue steadily in the next decade unless a trigger event kicks off a crisis and a long period – perhaps decades – of extreme violence.

Humanity’s task in this decade – and much of the 21st century – is simply to survive it.

There is no question that we are headin’ for Armageddon — one of the many that have happened in history and if you are prepared and ready for new challenges, you may even survive a near-extinction event.

This is why we are told to use wisdom and endure to the end.
